Have you ever met someone that had luck so bad you were afraid to stand next to them? Yeah, that was probably me. Bad luck is a defect from birth, I’m afraid, and it haunts me to this day. I am Mourn My Luck. Whatever fate refuses to give me, I have to take for myself. One finds peace where he can. I started my musical career with a band named Metallic Memories in 1988. After being introduced and drawn to the more progressive sound of Queensryche, Fates Warning and Crimson Glory and the heavy sounds of Testament , Metallica, and Megadeth, and finally the speed of Slayer, and Overkill, I decided I needed some formal vocal training. After working with vocal teachers and a coach, I finally landed with a vocal style similar to Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson, and Geoff Tate. With soaring screams, and soft melodies I became the front man to a band called Stormbringer that at the time had recently suffered a nasty split from their previous singer. The band was on the fast track to greatness when my luck struck again and everything went to Hell. A deadly car crash with a drunk driver took the life of band member, and friend, Adrienne Minor. The band couldn’t recover from the emotional blow and fell apart. Mourn My Luck is a project that began in October of 2004 but had been around in concept form for years. I started this project after being a part of three bands that I have recorded with and numerous bands that didn’t go anywhere. In 2004 I had one more run in with my luck and the band I was singing for crumbled. I had been working on material for a solo album for many years and the time had come to get started. I enlisted the aid of a good friend and guitar player, David Addison of Addison Way, to help me develop my songs into greatness. With Dave’s help “The Line” was released just over two years later, Halloween 2006. So here begins the tale, the legend that will be Mourn My Luck …. .
